UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST UNDER MODERATE FIRE DANGER

June 28, 2024 3:40 a.m.

The Umpqua National Forest has moved to Moderate Fire Danger across all districts of the forest.

A UNF release said no Public Use Restrictions have been issued at this time. All visitors to the forest should make sure their campfire is dead out before leaving their campsite. Campers should drown, stir and feel the campfire with the back of their hand. It should feel cold to the touch. With the Fourth of July holiday next week, UNF reminds recreationists that fireworks are illegal on public lands, including the Umpqua National Forest.

Beginning on July 1st, the forest will transition to Industrial Fire Precaution Level 1. Complete information on restrictions for those working in the forest are linked: Umpqua National Forest – Home (usda.gov)
