DOUGLAS COUNTY GOVERNMENT TO CLOSE JULY 4TH

Douglas County government will close most offices on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

A county release said offices in the courthouse, Justice Building, Courthouse Annex in Reedsport, the fairgrounds office, county landfill and transfer sites and all external government offices will not be open to the public.

Other information for the holiday:

*Bistro Sixty Senior Dining Sites and the Meals on Wheels program will be closed. Delivery customers are asked to request an additional meal on their July 2nd delivery.

*Due to staffing vacancies, the Douglas County Clerk’s Office will reduce hours July 1st-3rd. That office will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on those days.

*The Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History in Roseburg and the Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum in Winchester Bay will be open July 4th for normal business hours.

*All county operated parks, campgrounds, and boat ramps will be open and accessible during the holiday.

*Even though the Sheriff’s Office lobby entrance will be closed on July 4th, staff will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance. Those who have an emergency can call 911. For non-emergencies, call 440-4471.

This year is the 248th Fourth of July, also known as American Independence Day.
