ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT

Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged assault incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said just after 9:30 p.m. officers were dispatched after multiple callers said that 36-year-old Todd Johnson was chasing a victim with a knife on West Umpqua -Street heading towards West Harvard Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and learned that Johnson had held the victim down and cut him with a butcher knife.

He was taken into custody without incident. Johnson was charged with second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. He was detained without bail.
