Roseburg Police cited a man for an alleged theft on Wednesday night.

An RPD report said just after 10:30 p.m. an employee of a business in the 3000 block of Northwest Aviation Drive said the 24-year-old was trying to cash a lottery receipt which had been stolen from inside the business earlier in the day. The suspect was contacted while he was leaving the parking lot in a vehicle

The suspect claimed that another man had earlier found the lottery recipe on the floor of the lottery room and asked him to cash the ticket for him. He was cited for second-degree theft and lost/mislaid property before being released.  The report said officers are following up with the second man.
