Roseburg Police jailed a man after he drove his vehicle into a house early Wednesday.
A Roseburg Police report said at 1:00 a.m. officers responded to a home in the 1700 block of Southeast Jackson Street after a caller said that a van had crashed into the residence. Two people were sleeping in the room that was hit where the vehicle went through the wall. Officers contacted 51-year-old Schade Yanezo, who was still in the driver’s seat and was parked within 15 feet of the damaged house. Yanezo was allegedly visibly intoxicated. He denied hitting the house or driving.
The driver agreed to perform standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly. He was taken into custody without incident. Yanezo was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and second-degree criminal trespass. Bail was set at $35,000.
