Sutherlin Police have made an arrest in a hit and run case for an incident which took place Friday night.
Captain Kurt Sorenson said at 9:50 p.m. a 20-year-old Sutherlin resident was jogging, when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of West Central Avenue and Oak Street. The man was treated at the scene and then taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center. He was released on Saturday, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sorenson said the vehicle that struck the jogger did not stop to render aid and quickly left the scene. On Sunday 64-year Rudy Wilcox was charged with failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, 4th-degree assault, and for vehicular assault of a pedestrian.
