Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender on Friday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. officers saw the 48-year-old drinking a 40-ounce beer in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street. He was detained for the violation. A small container of methamphetamine was allegedly found in his pocket. The man admitted to not updating his sex offender registry. He was detained without bail and was cited for drinking in public and for unlawful possession of a violation amount of meth.
