Zumba returns to Stewart Park in Roseburg next week.
A City of Roseburg release said the park is the place to burn calories on Wednesday evenings during free Zumba sessions from June 12th through August 28th. It’s presented by the YMCA of Douglas County and Roseburg Parks and Recreation.
These sessions take the “work” out of workout by mixing low and high intensity moves in these interval-style, family friendly dance fitness parties. YMCA instructors will teach the high-energy cardio dance fitness classes to upbeat music, every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Classes are held in the grass just west of the large pavilion.
Zumba was developed in the 1990s by Columbian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez.
No registration is needed for the classes. Attendees should arrive a few minutes early to sign in. Participants need comfortable workout clothing and should bring water.
For more information, call the YMCA at 440-9622 or Roseburg Parks and Recreation at 492-6899.
