June 5, 2024 10:40 a.m.

Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers in Roseburg are asking for the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending the person responsible for unlawfully killing a buck deer with a small caliber air rifle on May 30th or 31st.

An OSP release said the preliminary investigation indicated the animal was shot while in the 6000 block of Garden Valley Road between Kestrel Lane and Old Garden Valley Road. The killing of the buck deer may not have been intentional, rather an individual may have been attempting to haze the animal away from a yard or residence in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Matt Bowersox through OSP dispatch at 800-442-2068. Those with information may remain anonymous. A Turn-in-Poachers reward for cash or preference points will be offered for information leading to a citation or arrest in the case.
