Roseburg Police cited a woman for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and prohibited camping on Monday.
An RPD report said shortly after 11:00 a.m. the 42-year-old had her camp set up under the Fowler Street Bridge in the 200 block of Southeast Fowler Street. Her last camp located there was cleaned about three weeks ago by the work crew. The woman had netting set up under both ends of the bridge to keep a group of pigeons contained within the camp. There was trash allegedly scattered throughout the area, which was about 12 feet bv 25 feet. The trash included a large metal frame from a trampoline.
The camp was set up about 10 feet from the water’s edge of Deer Creek. It violated the time portion of the city ordinance because it was set up after 8:00 a.m. The camp violated the place portion of the ordinance because it was set up with 100 feet of a waterway. It violated the manner portion of the ordinance because it was bigger than 10 feet by 10 feet.
The woman was released after the citation was issued.
