4th District U.S. Representative Val Hoyle has announced her selected community projects that were submitted to the House Appropriations Committee as candidates to receive funding in Fiscal Year 2025.

Hoyle said, “These 15 projects reflect priorities of local communities who know their needs best”. Hoyle said, “If funded, these projects will support construction of affordable housing, promote workforce development, advance public safety and more”.

Each House member was allowed to submit 15 community projects to be considered for federal funding on behalf of their congressional district. A release said the projects Hoyle selected had strong community support and were able to demonstrate to her office their value and benefit to Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District.

In Douglas County, two projects were put forward:

*Emergency Communications Radio Tower for Rural Community Coverage – $1.45 million

*Umpqua Community College Affordable Housing for Rural Workforce Training Students – $4 million

Projects were also proposed for funding in Benton, Coos, Curry, Lane and Lincoln counties with the request totaling over $28 million.
