UMPQUA VALLEY TO ENTER JUNE WITH AVERAGE TEMPRATURES, HEAT COMING

The Umpqua Valley will enter June with temperatures close to average, but warmer weather is not far off.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the start of June normally sees highs of around 73 degrees in Roseburg. Saturday is expected to be in the upper 70s before dropping back to the low 70s on Sunday.

Highs will be in the 80s beginning on Wednesday and could reach 90 degrees or above by late in the week.

As May comes to a close, the Roseburg Regional Airport has had slightly below normal rainfall for the month. As of early Friday, the airport had received 1.74 inches of rain. That is below the average amount of 2.03 inches.
