The Lance Michael Emmons Athletic Scholarship Fund is holding an upcoming golf tournament.

The fund, a Mercy Foundation Partner Fund, was started by the Stapleton family in remembrance of their son and brother Lance. To honor his memory, the family is dedicated to supporting the endeavors of local athletes by providing funds for registration and equipment fees. While the fund is partially supported by the family, the annual golf tournament began in 2021 to expand its reach. Last year over $11,000 was raised. This allowed the family to support dozens of local youth athletes pursuing their athletic dreams.

This year’s event will be held at Bar Run Golf on Saturday, August 3rd. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. This will be a 4-person shamble style event.

In addition, a cocktail party on the newly constructed Bar Run pool deck will take place Friday August 2nd from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tournament participants and non-golfers are welcome to attend.
