Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported assault incident on Saturday night.
An RPD report said at 7:00 p.m. 36-year-old Robert George assumed a victim had his wallet and wanted it back. The incident took place in the 2300 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The victim did not have the wallet and was trying to get away from George.
She eventually maced George in the face as he approached her. The suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face about five times, dislodging her front teeth. George was found by officers and ran on foot before attempting to enter a nearby residence. The homeowner pushed George out of the house, and he continued to run.
Officers deployed their tasers and took George into custody. He was charged with fourth-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct, interfering with a peace officer, first degree criminal trespass and for Sutherlin Police Department warrants.
Bail was set at $21,250.
