SEMI-TRUCK DRIVER HOSPITALIZED AFTER OVERNIGHT FREEWAY WRECK

A semi-truck driver was hospitalized after an overnight freeway wreck early Thursday.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 2:30 a.m. the commercial motor vehicle left Interstate Five southbound in the Rice Hill area and struck the guardrail. The truck then hit a large oak tree and came to rest. The 61-year-old driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with injuries. He is listed in good condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Two panels, four posts and one attenuator were damaged in the accident.

The semi-truck was towed from the crash scene.
