Oregon State Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident on Wednesday night.

An OSP report said an assault had occurred when two subjects became involved in a physical dispute while traveling on Highway 101, about eight miles south of Reedsport. The victim reportedly received injuries to her mouth, resulting in several lost teeth. The victim was transported to a hospital.

Troopers arrived at about 8:25 p.m. and contacted the 39-year-old suspect and ultimately arrested him. After interviewing the involved subjects, probable cause for two charges was obtained. The man was charged with second-degree assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was detained without bail.
