HANLIN WINS THREE-WAY RACE TO RETAIN OFFICE OF SHERIFF

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin appears to have won a three-way race to retain his office.

Updated Preliminary Unofficial Results from the Douglas County Clerk’s office have Hanlin getting over 73 percent of the vote. DCSO Lieutenant Brad O’Dell is at 15 percent while Gregg Kennerly of the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribal Police is getting just over 11 percent.

O’Dell released a statement Tuesday night congratulating Hanlin on the victory and saying he hopes, “…to serve you as your next Sheriff when the time comes”.

Updated local results will be released by County Clerk Daniel Loomis on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Unofficial Final Results will go to the Secretary of State’s Office on May 29th at 5:00 pm.
