David Brock Smith and Noah Robinson appear to have won their primary races for state senate seats in Oregon.
As of early Wednesday, the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office is showing Brock Smith with nearly 57 percent of the Republican vote in the race for the State Senate District One seat. Challengers Todd Vaughn, Paul Romero Jr. and Ashley Hicks are at 29 percent, 9 percent, and 6 percent respectively. No Democrat filed for the seat, sending Brock Smith back to Salem.
Noah Robinson won the GOP nomination for State Senate in District Two, beating current Fourth District State Representative Christine Goodwin 60 percent to 40 percent. Robinson is the son of current State Senator Art Robinson who was barred from seeking another term due to a GOP walkout in a recent legislative session. Goodwin won the Douglas County vote, getting 64 percent to 36 percent for Robinson. The seat includes parts of Josephine, Jackson, and Douglas counties.
Primary races for State Representative seats in Douglas County were unopposed.
