A Douglas County property owner was recently jailed for multiple crimes in Coos County.
Information from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office released Sunday night said on May 11th a deputy engaged with a burglary victim from an incident April 24th at North Ten Mile Lake, collecting initial details. Further information and game camera images from the victim were obtained the following day, revealing 28-year-old Kile Elder as the suspect with his vehicle. The property had been forcibly entered by cutting through two gates and the residence’s side with a Sawzall, leading to the theft of various items.
The deputy discovered that Elder owned a property in Douglas County. Although Elder was absent, a Douglas County Deputy verified his identity from the game camera images, and the stolen goods were found on site.
Probable cause for Elder’s arrest was issued, with area law enforcement agencies notified of the search for Elder. Later that evening around 8:00 p.m., the North Bend Police Department informed the deputy of Elder’s potential location.
A deputy proceeded to a Hamilton Avenue address in North Bend, where Elder was apprehended, and additional stolen property was recovered. Elder was charged with first-degree counts of burglary, criminal mischief and theft, second-degree criminal trespass and for an outstanding Lane County warrant.
Elder was taken to the Coos County Jail where he remains in custody.
