LESS THAN 13.5 PERCENT OF BALLOTS RETURNED IN COUNTY PRIMARY

May 16, 2024 3:50 a.m.

13.47 percent, or 12,055 local ballots have been received by the Douglas County Clerk’s Office for the May Presidential Primary Election, as of late Wednesday.

Clerk Daniel Loomis said that lags 8.07 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 Primary Election.

Loomis has some reminders for voters:

*It is now five days from Election Day. Registered voters who have not received a ballot should contact or visit the Clerk’s Office.

*The voter’s signature on every ballot return envelope is checked by staffed against the voter registration signature. If it does not match, the voter is identified, and they have 21 days after the election to provide a matching signature.

*Ballots must be cast by no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21st.

Ballots can be returned to any official county drop site location. The list of locations is linked: https://douglascountyor.gov/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations
