Winston Police jailed a man for sex crimes and assault charges on Saturday.

A WPD report said the agency initiated an investigation into an alleged domestic assault case on Friday. Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. 25-year-old Oscar Valenzuela was taken into custody. It was reported that Valenzuela had assaulted, strangled, and sexually violated a victim. She was seen at CHI Mercy Medical Center.

The suspect was charged with first-degree counts of sex abuse and unlawful sexual penetration, a felony count of strangulation, and for fourth-degree assault, menacing and harassment. Valenzuela was jailed without bail.
