Roseburg Police jailed a man after a reported escape incident on Sunday.
An RPD report said just after 10:20 a.m. officers contacted 30-year-old Alexander Smith as he was trespassing on the railroad tracks near Southeast Mosher Avenue and Southeast Sheridan Street. The man allegedly ran when officers asked him for his name. Smith reportedly tried to hit and kick officers while being taken into custody. He was subsequently tased.
Smith was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree escape and for resisting arrest. He was detained without bail.
