LOCAL PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOTS COMING IN SLOWLY

May 11, 2024 6:20 a.m.

Presidential Primary ballots are coming in slowly in Douglas County.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 8.05 percent, or 7,207 ballots have come in as of late Friday. That lags 3.89 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 Primary Election.

Loomis said registered voters who have not yet received their ballot should visit the clerk’s office at the courthouse weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voters can use one of the fifteen official Douglas County ballot drop sites to return their ballot. Those using the U.S. Postal Service should mail their ballot one week in advance of the May 21st deadline.
