ANOTHER NEAR RECORD HIGH EXPECTED FOR SATURDAY

Saturday should see another day of near record high temperatures in the Umpqua Valley.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 that the mercury is slated to reach near 90 degrees in Roseburg on Saturday. The record high for May 11th is 91 degrees, set in 1931.

Friday the Roseburg Regional Airport hit 91 degrees, just three degrees shy of the record for the date, which was 94 degrees, also set in 1931.

Roseburg should drop to the low 80s on Sunday before dipping to the mid-70s on Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon highs will get back to the low 80s on Wednesday and Thursday. No rain is expected in the foreseeable future.
