A driver was hospitalized in a single vehicle freeway accident on Thursday evening.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 6:00 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the crash at the southbound Garden Valley Boulevard onramp to Interstate 5. Witnesses stated that the pickup had entered the freeway normally and then for unknown reasons it went off the road into the grassy area and then back onto the freeway before crashing into the center median.

The driver stated that when he entered the freeway, his pickup was cut off by another vehicle which caused him to crash. None of the witnesses reported seeing that happen. The driver was not injured in the wreck and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for medical problems that were likely a factor in causing the accident.

The pickup was towed away. Roseburg Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
