The Umpqua Valley should see the hottest temperatures of the year so far later this week.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 80 degrees on April 2nd. So far, that has been the warmest day in 2024. It should be eclipsed for three days in a row beginning on Thursday. Highs of around 83, 90 and 87 degrees are expected for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday respectively. Sunday will cool to the upper 70s. The region should see generally dry weather for at least the next couple of weeks.
