BALLOTS TRICKING IN FOR THE MAY PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

May 8, 2024 3:50 a.m.

Ballots are beginning to trickle in for the 2024 May Presidential Primary Election in Douglas County.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 0.92 percent, or 827 ballots have been returned as of late Tuesday. Loomis said that lags 1.84 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 Primary Election.

Loomis said voters should remember to:

*Properly fill in the oval for selected candidates or choices on measures

*Select the option to write-in and fill the oval

*Correct a mistake

Voters do not have to make a choice in all contests. Other votes still count.

The state voter’s pamphlet is mailed to every residence in Oregon, one per household. Pamphlet statements are written and turned in by the candidates. They are published as they are submitted. Even though Douglas County Elections does not publish a voter’s pamphlet, the county and district candidates have their candidate filings published on the county elections website, as are county and district ballot measures.
