Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident on Friday night.
An RPD report said just after 7:40 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance between a 38-year-old man and a victim in the 1600 block of Southeast Cobb Street. During the disturbance, the suspect reportedly threw a shovel which struck the victim in the face, leaving a large bump.
The man was charged with second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was detained without bail. The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center.
