Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a woman for an alleged strangulation incident on Thursday night.

A DCSO report said deputies responded just before 6:40 p.m. when two people were allegedly involved in an altercation that turned physical in the 700 block of East Fourth Avenue in Riddle. Prior to the situation turning physical, the 22-year-old suspect advised that the victim was in her face yelling at her about petty things. She claimed that she pushed him by his neck to get him away from her. The woman said the victim then slapped her as hard as he could.

The woman said she then grabbed him by both hands, and it caused his Adam’s apple to be pressed in. The victim stated that it affected his breathing. The report said there were obvious red marks on the victim’s neck that appeared to be scratches.

The suspect, identified as Hannah Mack, was charged with a felony count of strangulation. She was detained without bail.
