Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Roseburg man for an alleged assault on Monday afternoon.

A DCSO report said at 3:30 p.m. the 27-year-old and the victim got into an argument in the 200 block of Emils Way. The suspect reportedly threw the victim on the floor by the back of her neck, causing a bruise to her left arm, and significant pain. The man denied the incident and claimed the victim threw herself on the floor.

He was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree assault. The man was detained without bail.
