WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH 2:00 P.M. FRIDAY

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 2:00 p.m. Friday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected above 5,000 feet, with accumulations of 8 to 10 inches possible.

The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains and applies to Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Willamette Pass and Mt. Ashland.

Snowfall rates of up to one inch per hour are likely. Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions, slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
