A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 12:00 p.m. Thursday to 2:00 p.m. Friday for the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains above 5,000 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected. Total accumulations of 5 to 15 inches are forecast. Snow levels will initially be at 6,000 to 6,500 feet Thursday afternoon and evening but will decrease to 5,000 feet accompanying the highest snowfall rates from early Friday morning through Friday afternoon.

The Advisory area includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Willamette Pass and Mt. Ashland.

Forecasters said drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. They should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
