An Azalea man was detained for an escape charge and for warrants by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday night.

A DCSO report said at 10:30 p.m. a deputy saw 35-year-old Chace Gordon attempting to hide from him in the parking lot Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville. The deputy deployed K9 Zoro to begin an area search. Gordon was spotted when he popped up behind a vehicle and took off running through the south lot of the casino. The K9 and the deputy caught up to the suspect as he was trying to hop a fence.

Gordon surrendered without incident once he saw K9 Zoro. He was charged with two warrants and cited for third-degree escape. Gordon was detained on $6,250 bail.
