Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident Tuesday night.

An SPD report said at 11:00 p.m. a victim claimed that she was hit in the nose while arguing with the suspect in the 800 block of West First Avenue. The 22-year-old suspect told police that the incident was an accident, but the victim stated that she didn’t know it was an accident.

The man was charged with fourth-degree assault. He was detained on $6,250 bail.
