The City of Oakland is encouraging residents from all over Douglas County to celebrate the Historic Oakland Bridge with a Sunday Stroll this weekend.

With demolition of the 99-year-old bridge set to begin later this month, the event is happening so people can walk on the bridge and enjoy the beautiful views and nostalgia. The stroll goes from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period clothes from the 1920s. A number of community groups will have special displays and information.
