Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed two people following an alleged incident in south county on Wednesday night.
A DCSO report said the female suspect and the victim had both taken items from each other on prior incidents. Just after 10:30 p.m. the woman and the male suspect, both aged 52 and from Canyonville, decided to contact the victim in an attempt to get her belongings back. They met the victim at his residence in the 100 block of Reed Street and a physical altercation reportedly took place. The suspects allegedly assaulted the victim, held him down and took the woman’s belongings from his home.
The pair fled the scene and was later contacted at a residence in the 400-block of Leland Street where they were arrested. Both were charged with third-degree assault. The man was also charged for strangulation and second-degree criminal trespass. The woman was also held for first-degree criminal trespass. She was detained on $10,000 bail. The man was held on $5,000 bail.
