A stabbing investigation in Roseburg is continuing, with the suspect still being sought.

Sergeant Daniel Allen from the Roseburg Police said Wednesday morning at approximately 6:00 a.m. RPD officers responded to the 900 block of Northeast Willow Street regarding a reported stabbing. Allen said when officers arrived, they found that a 50-year-old Roseburg man was injured due to a stab wound. Immediately life-saving efforts began. The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. He was later transferred to an out of the area medical facility for additional treatment.

Allen said a suspect in this case, a 20-year-old Roseburg man, fled the scene and has not been located despite efforts from multiple assisting agencies and a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K9 track. Investigators found that the victim and suspect are known to each other.

Detectives from RPD, DCSO and Oregon State Police along with DCSO deputies responded to assist and are continuing to investigate the matter with assistance from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office. Allen said at this time, there is no known ongoing threat to the general public.
