ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED ROCK THROWING INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged rock throwing incident on Monday.

An RPD report said shortly before 10:00 p.m. officers responded to the west side of the Washington Street Bridge in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue. A caller claimed that the suspect was throwing rocks at the people camping below the bridge.

Officers contacted 55-year-old Arturo Meza. An investigation concluded that Meza had spit on a woman and had thrown numerous rocks nearby nearly hitting one male victim.

Meza was charged with harassment, recklessly endangering another and for a parole violation. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
