HIGH JUST SHY OF RECORD, TEMPERATURES 15 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL

Roseburg’s high temperature Monday was a few degrees shy of the record for the date as the region enjoys two days of maximum temperatures that are 15 degrees above normal.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 74 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport.  The record high for April 1st was 78 degrees, set in 1944, 2000 and 2016. Normal high temperatures for early April are generally around 60 degrees.

The region will enjoy one more day of sunshine before things change. It is forecast to be 75 degrees in Roseburg. The record high for April 2nd is 83 degrees, set in 1944.

Rain with the possibility of snow at higher elevations begins on Wednesday. High temperatures will only be around 50 through Saturday. The snow level may be as low as 1,200 feet during part of that time. Beginning on Monday, high temperatures will be in the 60s to low 70s for several days, with just a slight chance of rain.
