The City of Reedsport is preparing for potential future increases in train traffic, should the Port of Coos Bay container ship terminal be constructed on the North Spit in Coos Bay.
Over the past year, the city, the Oregon Department of Transportation, the Port of Coos Bay, and others have worked together to prepare a “Reedsport Rail Crossing Study” which includes a preliminary project and would be required if/when the container ship terminal is built.
A city release said the recommendations of the Reedsport Rail Crossing Study will be discussed during a public hearing held by the city council on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. The city council will consider a recommendation by the Reedsport Planning Commission on whether to adopt the study.
The meeting will be held at Reedsport City Hall with a videoconference option available. For videoconference log in information, go to: https://www.cityofreedsport.org/meetings and click on the meeting’s agenda.
