WOLF CREEK MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED KIDNAPPING/STOLEN VEHICLE

A Wolf Creek man was arrested Thursday for an alleged kidnapping and stolen vehicle incident.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 1:00 p.m. dispatchers received a call from a man who said his mother had been taken against her will. The victim was able to send information to her son, which he relayed to deputies.

Deputies learned that the suspect, 25-year-old Richard Goodin was in a pickup which had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

During the investigation, the victim was able to get away and called 911, providing an approximate location to deputies. Law enforcement converged on the area, locating Goodin. They were able to take him into custody without further incident. The victim was located and taken to safety.

Goodin was charged with kidnapping in the second-degree, possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle and for a violation level of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Goodin was detained on $15,000 bail.
