March 28, 2024 3:50 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 11:00 p.m. Thursday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said wet snow is expected above 5,500 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches are forecast with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour.

The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. This applies to portions of highways 230, 138, and 62 around Crater Lake and Diamond Lake.

Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Motorists should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
