Umpqua National Forest has announced the upcoming relocation of its Supervisor’s Office.
A UNF release said visitor services in the new location will begin on Monday March 18th, with most staff reporting to the new building on April 1st. The office will now operate alongside other federal government agencies including the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The new building is at 777 Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard and will serve as part of the newly named Roseburg Interagency Office. The release said the strategic move underscores the collaborative commitment of these four agencies to providing easier accessibility to the public to deliver services.
As part of the transition, there will be notable changes in public services that will begin next week:
*Public Convenience: To provide easier access, a shared front desk with staff from both the BLM and the UNF will be in the BLM lobby. This collaborative front desk will aid visitors by creating a one-stop shop for both BLM and USFS trip-planning, permits and passes.
*Expanded Hours: In response to the evolving needs of the community, the Roseburg Interagency Office will now operate five days a week, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This extended schedule aims to improve accessibility and accommodate the diverse schedules of stakeholders and community members.
*Updated Contact Information: The UNF Supervisor’s Office phone number will change to 440-4930, the current BLM Roseburg Office phone number. Visitors and partners are encouraged to update their records accordingly to ensure seamless communication with the UNF.
UNF Forest Supervisor Alice Carlton said, “We are thrilled about our relocation to this new facility and the opportunity to work more closely with our interagency partners, especially the Bureau of Land Management. This move reflects our dedication to delivering exceptional service and enhancing the overall experience for our community members”. Carlton said, “We look forward to continuing the mission of the Umpqua National Forest in this new chapter”.
