A transient was jailed for a warrant in south county on Monday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 11:40 a.m. a vehicle was stopped on Interstate 5 northbound near exit 108. The passenger, a 54-year-old man, was contacted. Through a records check, it was learned that he had a warrant for his arrest. The man was detained for the warrant. He was allegedly found to be in possession of a violation amount of methamphetamine. The man complained of chest pain. Medics responded to the scene and the man was ultimately transported to CHI Mercy Center. Once he was cleared by medical, he was taken to jail.

The man was detained on $10,000 bail.
