WORKSHOP OFFERED FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON GRAFTING TREES

The Oregon State University Extension Service and the Douglas County Master Gardeners will offer an apple tree grafting workshop on March 22nd.

It will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Oregon State University Extension office on Southeast Douglas Avenue in Roseburg.

During this hands-on workshop, participants will receive a tutorial on grafting dwarf apples onto dwarf rootstock. Attendees will learn about scion wood, apple varieties, and types of rootstock and then will have the opportunity to graft scion wood to rootstock. There will be several varieties of apples to choose from when making trees. Participants will take home apple trees that they grafted. Attendees should bring lunch with them.
