A Glendale woman was arrested for a reported assault incident early Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 1:00 a.m. deputies responded after a caller said there had been an incident at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue in Glendale.

Upon arrival deputies found a victim that had severe injuries to her face including golf ball sized welts near her eyes and forehead. After interviewing all the people involved several times, it was concluded that an 18-year-old was responsible for the victim’s injuries. The woman allegedly claimed that during the altercation she punched the victim an estimated 25 to 30 times in the face.

The victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center and the woman was charged with fourth-degree assault. She was detained without bail and was released later in the day.
