Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K9 Eros tracked down a stolen vehicle suspect on Friday.

Information from DCSO and the Sutherlin Police Department said officers located a stolen vehicle being driven in the 1000 block of West Central Avenue near Ponderosa Drive shortly after 2:30 p.m. The suspect failed to stop and attempted to elude police.

The SUV was pursued to the 600 block of Fawn Ridge Drive in Oakland where it crashed. The suspect, 50-year-old Kevin Davison of Roseburg, fled the scene on foot. A perimeter was established and the K9 was requested to respond to the scene.

K9 Eros began to track Davison from his last known location. During the track, Eros located clothing that had been worn by the suspect. K9 Eros eventually led officers to a red pump house indicating that the suspect was inside. Deputies began giving announcements that the suspect had been located by the K9 and should surrender.

Davison opened the door to the building and gave up without further incident. He was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude an officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and for unlawful possession/concealment of firearms. Davison was detained on $15,000 bail.
