WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for mountain areas in southern Oregon through 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow and blowing snow is expected with total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet, but around 10 to 14 inches at the Siskiyou Summit. Winds will gust as high as 50 miles per hour.

The Warning area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains and applies to Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Howard Prairie, Union Creek, Crescent Lake and all passes, including portions of Interstate 5 and highways 58, 138, 230, 62, 66, and 140.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
