A Roseburg woman was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following a crash on Tuesday afternoon.
A DCSO report said earlier in the day, the 30-year-old had been called in while near a business in the 200 block of Grant Smith Road in Green for seemingly being intoxicated before driving away. Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the woman’s vehicle.
At 2:50 p.m. the woman reportedly drove down the 2000 block of Austin Road at approximately 60 miles per hour, hitting multiple street signs and mailboxes. Her vehicle hit a culvert launching her pickup in the air and causing it to roll approximately three times before coming to a rest. While the vehicle was rolling, it allegedly struck a parked sedan.
The driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where she underwent a blood draw. Her blood alcohol level registered at .284 percent, which is three and a half times the legal limit for intoxication while driving. The woman also reportedly told a deputy that she had smoked marijuana around thirty minutes before leaving to pickup her child from school and was “very, very stoned”.
Once medically cleared she was transported to corrections. The woman was charged with driving while under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. She was detained without bail and was released on Wednesday.
