Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported hit and run incident on Wednesday night.

An RPD report said at 6:45 p.m. the 39-year-old was contacted after his large SUV crashed into a cement retaining wall and he left the scene after the business owner confronted him. This took place in the 100 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The man was found several blocks away trying to hide. He eventually admitted to driving, but never elaborated on why he left the scene. The man was charged with failure to perform the duties of a driver. Bail was set at $6,250. The driver was released later in the evening.
